Although this is my first year at Rasor Elementary, this is my tenth year as an educator. I began my teaching career in Plano ISD, and have also taught in Frisco ISD and Arlington ISD. Before becoming a teacher, I had a career as a registered nurse, working first in a cardiac stepdown unit, then in home health.
I have always felt that music is at my very core. I began playing the piano by ear at the age of 2, then studied piano for 11 years before entering nursing school. Music has brought me joy throughout my life, and my hope is to help my students experience that as well.
in 2001 I spent a year studying at a Spanish language institute in Costa Rica, then lived in Mexico for 5 months helping a missionary who was building a home for street girls. These experiences gave me a deep appreciation for cultures different than my own. It has been such a joy to experience the rich cultural diversity here at Rasor!
